The Festival of the New Year! April 9th

Hathor!
This festival was the festival of the new year! This festival was to honor the goddess of prosperity and fertility, Hathor, and the god of time, Khonsu. Luckily, we were well prepared for this festival because of our former 2 temple drafts. We arrived a bit early to set up, some people were picking flowers for the ceremony, others were making wine, others still were preparing the Hathor Temple. At 12 sharp, we started the festival! We started the festival with the ceremony of Hathor. We made a procession, Flowers, water, Hathor statue, Script bearer, and instruments. As we walked to the Hathor shrine we sprinkled flowers along the path, chanting "Hathor!" occasionally. The ceremony was preformed and we asked Hathor to, "Bless the Kingdom of Egypt, and bring us bounty... to the land!"Soon after the ceremony, the Pharaoh gave an important address to the Kingdom, almost like the President's Address to the Union. This speech was 6 pages long! Maybe I can include a copy of it on the blog soon. After the long address, different awards were given out to Egyptians. The awards were,

The Wealthiest Egyptian! = Teryn D., 36 coins
The Hardest Working Egyptian! = Gemma N.
The Most Profitable Business! = Super Isis Incorporated
The Most Literate! = Teryn D.
Biggest Face O' Shame Hater! = Teryn D.
Fairest! = Fiona M.
The Most Despised Person in all of Egypt! = Trey, the face of shame.
(and award should have been given to...) The Most Generous! = Roy P.

Some coins from the Egyptian Treasury
Certain gifts were also given out as well, such as the Mystery Project, and other goodies! This festival, we Egyptians decided to have a little fun, have a lottery! There were a small amount of tickets, so everyone bought a large share. Ashleigh bought over 16, Super Isis Incorporated, over 8, and others bought until all of the tickets were gone. We rolled the first number... 4! Darn it! Ashleigh was out! Next number... 6! Everyone was out... except for Roy! Yes, Roy was the lucky winner of the lottery! With only 2 tickets, he really won by a hair! We were all bumbed out, but we had still more Egyptian spirit! We had another lottery! Ashleigh bought he mos tickets, determined to win! Most people, however, only bought one ticket. The first number was rolled... 4! Ashleigh was out, again! The second number... 3! Roy had one again! By the end of the lottery, almost every Egyptian had lost their money, and Super Isis Incorporated went Bankrupt. On the other hand, Roy became the richest Egyptian, besides from the Pharaoh, of course!

After the lottery, we had an auction. We were selling all types of goods, jewelry to important scrolls, to Egypt Game antiques. Basically, everyone was without money so almost everything was bought by Roy. Roy, being generous, gave most of his Items away and donated all of his spare money to struggling Egyptians. Also, Roy save Super Isis Incorporated from Bankruptcy. Therefore, Roy's new name is Roy the Generous.

The Lunar Disk of Khonsu
After our auction,we started the ceremony of Khonsu. The ceremony was the same as in the Festival of Khonsu, except we didn't walk around the house 4 times, and we didn't stumble around in the dark.
After our ceremony, we had our majorNerf Gun War! After the division of teams, an hour of carefully planned seige, and a mental breakdown, Pharaoh's team finally won! It was a struggle, but we won! We were all out of energy by the end of it and we finished the festival a bit early, so we all decided to watch a movie. What a good festival!
