National Tragedy!

The Crime of the Year!!!

Teryn D., the once proud Governess of Philae, has comitted a serious crime!
The cover of the Book of Thoth
Teryn D. allegedly, when passed the Book of Thoth, let it drop into the hallway. It, "slipped from her hands", or did it? Teryn was mad that day, "said she wanted to kill everyone"-said Empress of Korea. When the Pharaoh heard about this and Egypt's property being destroyed and thrown out into the hallway for everyone to trample upon, he was very upset. Why on earth could anyone be so inconsiderate of other people's property? I relayed the crime to other Egyptians. Their reactions were similar to the Pharaoh's. "Dude! She just disposed of something that wasn't even hers! She has no respect for other people's property!" and "Why did she think that was logical?"- Owner of S.I.I.  Good question. So, why did she think that was logical? Apparently, "she didn't think the book was important", relays the  Most Heroic Citizen. Hm, if she didn't think it was important, then why is over 35% of the writing in the book her own?-statistic from Book of Thoth scans- Naturally, I spoke with Teryn about her inconsiderate actions towards others' property. When the conversation was through, she promptly threatened me and replied, "screw you."-text from Teryn D. herself. It seems to me that Teryn D. is out of the Egypt Game and will be serving as the Governess of the cult center to Isis no longer. A few hours after the incident, Teryn decided that she "is quitting the Egypt Game."-relays the Most Heroic citizen. Does this mean that Teryn is trying to escape from her crime? Where does Teryn's money go, afer all, she did win the award for the Wealthiest Egyptian. "Can i have her $ when

The Culprit!
she does?(quits) XD"-Most Heroic Citizen.Well, at least the enemies don't have it, right? Wrong! Reported by Zach, "I saw Trey(,the face of shame) walking around with that book yesterday.) So, the Book of Thoth is in enemy hands. "This whole situation sucks. At least they can't read it, right? :)"-Most Heoric Citizen, Actually, being a former Egyptian and being trained in Hieroglyphs, the head of the enemy actually CAN read the Book of Thoth. "At least we have somewhat of a copy at all."-Most Heoric Citizen. That is true, we actually do have a copy of the Book of Thoth, although not a complete copy. According to the Library reports, we have not copied 6 pages of the Book of Thoth, so "up to 21% of the Book of Thoth will now be lost forever." Not to mention, the beautiful covers that took me forever to make! "I mean, you worked so hard on the cover! That's the game's history!"-Most Heroic Citizen. But, thankfully, we do have copies of the covers. Hopefully, the book will turn up. Some people have helped us get it back in the past, people like, Brice and John. "Be friends with them, beg for their help! They can either save the Book before it is too late, or just let the situation be."-Pharaoh User-Khenem-Nejeru. This is an inernational incident because Korea is now involve. "The court wll solve this. We just have to remain calm and do this civilly."-Empress of Korea. No matter what, however, Teryn will still have her court trial, and justice shall still be served! Jokes the Most Heroic Citizen, "Better get out your pimp cane!"

The Treasures of Egypt

Are you a thief? Are you greedy? Are you curious about how much the most expensive items in Egypt cost? Do you think you would like to buy one? HA! Think again! These items are TOO EXPENSIVE for you! I thought I would make it easier for all of you robbers out there to steal the most expensive items in Egypt by listing them in cost order from least to greatest! Yep, below are the top 10 most expensive items in Egypt in ascending cost order. These are the most expensive out of all the artifacts that we have priced, 15. Yes, we have only priced 15 out of the estimated 1,000 artifacts in the Egypt Game, so we have quite a way to go! Enjoy!

#10, The Water Dish
The Water Dish

Raw material cost: 44
Cost + Craftsmanship: 47
This is a relatively new artifact made from solid gold which was first used in the past festival during the ceremony of Hathor. The priest would Carry this water dish and then sprinkle the holy water on the flowers and temple floor.

#9, The Was Staff Head
Was Staff Head

Raw material cost: 55
Cost + Craftsmanship: 58
This arifact has been used in every festival since the Festival of Khonsu, and it has been taken to Egypt Island. The headpiece is roughly 1/4 gold and 3/4 silver. In the festivals and religious ceremonies when it is used, the priest would carry it around in the procession. This is a set of 3 staff heads, each interchangeable.

#8, The Dagger and Sheath
The Dagger and Sheath

Raw material cost: 54
Cost + Craftsmanship: 58
Made during the beginning of the Year of the Sphinx, this artifact was made for the leader of the Army and the Governor of Tanis, Trey, the face of shame. This artifact is not much of a weapon, but a piece of decoration. The wearer would have tied the sheath with the dagger inside to his tunic. He would want to defend this fairly well however, because it is, with the exception of the lotus handle decoration, the blade, and the ore of the dagger, made of solid gold.

#7, The Ankh

The Ankh
Raw material cost: 55
Cost + Craftsmanship: 59
Total + History: 60
Made of solid gold, this Ankh s very expensive! Not just because it is 100% gold, but because of how old it is. This Ankh has been around since the start of the Egypt game, and has been used in almost every event. The user holds the top of the Ankh, almost like it is a handle. Holding the Ankh represents that you either control life, give life, protect life, or accepts life. This is most likely why the Pharaoh has it near by in every Egypt event!

#6, Isis Collar
The Isis Collar

Raw material cost: 62
Cost + Craftsmanship: 66
Total + History: 67
This sold gold (+ the occasional pieces of silver) collar is from the very beginning of the game and belongs to the Governess of Memphis and the current 2nd in command, Jordan. This collar shows Isis, wings outstretched, protecting the wearer. The user wears this piece like a necklace, and the counterweight in the back keeps the collar from slipping forward.

#5, The Cobra Crown
The Cobra Crown

Raw material cost: 77
Cost + Craftsmanship: 81
Total + History: 82
Made to fit the Pharaoh's royal original attire, this crown has been worn by the Pharaoh during every festival, trips to Egypt Island, and during every Halloween since the game began. The cobra grants protection and prosperity to the wearer. With the crown being made of solid gold, there is no shock that it is expensive!

#4, The Statue of Khonsu
The Statue of Khonsu

Raw material cost: 209
Cost + Craftsmanship: 215
This statue is the second temple statue ever made for the festivals and the temples. This statue has been used in every festival since the festival of Khonsu. It is very expensive because it is made out of solid gold, plus the huge chunk of silver for the lunar disk on his head.

#3, The Osiris Plate

The Osiris Plate
Raw material cost: 247
Cost + Craftsmanship: 253
This plate was made for the Temple of Osiris. The Temple was finished, the offering plate was made, but then a huge rainstorm came and destroyed the temple. The temple has not yet been rebuilt, so we have this excessive plate just sitting around. Actually, we put it to a different use. This solid silver plate, with the exception of the gold stars, holds all the money in the treasury. So, look for it the next time you get paid at a temple draft.

#2, The Sorbek Statue

The Sorbek Statue
Raw material cost: 356
Cost + Craftsmanship: 368
The first large temple statue ever, this Sorbek statue has never been used in a festival. The statue has traveled to Egypt Island twice and, while at the island, was spayed with gloss to keep it safe from the elements. Unfortunately, the unattended consequence of this is that the gold statue looks more like plastic than gold. Because it is so valuable and  is made with a little over a pound of gold , whenever it makes its trip to the island, we have to keep a hand o it, just in case the boat tips, so that the statue won't sink straight to the bottom.

#1, The Statue of Hathor

The Statue of Hathor
Raw material cost: ???
Cost + Cratsmanship: ???
This statue is the third temple statue ever to be made. It has most recently been used in its first festival, the Festval of the New Year. Because the statue is so tall, it had to be made in two pieces and then assembled. This statue took the longest to make out of the three current temple statues, and with the time it took to make it, the quality increased. Yes, this is the statue with the highest quality, and it is the heaviest statue. It is the heaviest temple statue because during it's constuction, less structure was used inside of it, and more gold was used instead. The statue is smooth, and shines brightly in the sun. When the statue was weighd for an idea on how much it cost, the spring scale thumped straight to the bottom. So, we have almost no idea about how much this baby costs, we just know that it used well over a pound of gold in it's constuction, so definately over 352 coins. But, you have to also keep in mind that each spot on the cow is equal to about 1 silver coin... We may never know how much this piece costs, but it is the most expensive treasure in Egypt for sure!

Egypt Island Rumors

Sad news has been reported by the locals of the Egypt Island area. In mid April, the waters of the island rose up, but how high? They say it is all the way up to the trees, but is it higher? We know for sure that the waters now cover the land bridge, the throne, the seats, the South Side. Did the water rise over the white monument? Could the water food into our storage on the island, distroying our supplies? This means we have to go to the island to find out the truth, but most likely, work will have to be suspended. The picture is of Egypt Island in the summer of 2003, the water is clearly at the tops of the trees. Has history repeated itself? Will history repeat itself?

Egypt Island, 2003

The New Year's Speech

This is the speech that Pharaoh gave at the New Year's Fesvival. It is VERY long, and you may not want to read all of it, but you may want to skim through it. This speech gives you a good idea about what we plan do do this coming year, and it sums up what we have done in the previous year.

New Year’s Speech
My friends and fellow civilians of the great Kingdom of Egypt. We have gathered here tonight to celebrate the New Year, and what a year it has been! We have such reason to celebrate! In our celebrations, we are to remember the magnificent achievements of our Kingdom in the past year, and the great goals we set out to achieve in the following year. We will celebrate and say goodbye to the Year of the Sphinx and joyfully welcome the Year of the Cobra. The Sphinx symbolizes power, strength, growing, and crushing our enemies. The past year has been all that and more!
In this great year past, we set up the basic principles of government, such as the law, courts, and the currency. We protected each other from any harm by keeping crime at bay because of the law, and we in the case of crime, fairly ruled the situation and equitably doled out the punishments. On top of the currency being created, we established the treasury. We created jobs for each other in order to support and care for ourselves, jobs such as: the Temple Draft jobs, Egypt Island jobs, hauling bricks, and serving at the festivals. We have promoted education for everyone, even foreigners, with our Hieroglyphic Learning Packets. We have provided luxury goods for the temples, businesses and people of Egypt with the trade routes that we have established. Some of the benefits from this trade route is the mint plant, the chamomile flower, the incense wood of the cedar tree, gourds for pots and bowls, and other lavish goods to improve our daily lives. The trade route that we have constructed begins at Lake Melton, the outpost of Shaat. We have made allies with the locals and have spread our influence far and wide. In this past glorious year, we have also outpaced and won victory over our bitter enemies, the Romans. The Romans shall never again threaten us, degrade us, or harm us! What a tremendous and boastful feat!
We have also spent an enormous amount of time and effort in the development, construction, and colonization of Egypt Island. In this past year, all activities towards Egypt Island, excluding its discovery, have taken place. In this past year, the island was explored, claimed by Egypt, and built upon. We placed the claiming stake and built the white monument. On the island, we also had discovered very valuable resources on the island, such as metallic, sparkly pigments, writing tablets, cedar, and colorful stones. On the island, we have also constructed a path that runs North to South on the island, increasing travel speed and efficiency. Also, there has been found a great deposit of stone in the west across the water from the island, from which we can quarry and draw stones for construction throughout the Kingdom. We have labeled plants of toxicity to better protect our visitors and workers to the island from ailments, such as poison ivy.  Also on the island there has been installed a sign to better direct visitors, and seats placed throughout the island for comfort. There has also been found a throne fit for royal visitors. We have partly hauled the throne in the direction from where it rests on the land bridge, to the South Side.
For the religion aspect, we have also held festivals for the glory of the gods and for the glory of Egypt. We also have created the plans of the temples for the gods Osiris, Re-Horakhty, and the goddess Isis and Hathor.
Construction has also taken place on the government room, and the temple of Egypt. We, as you already know, have spent countless hours working on them, laboring on them, painting, sketching, copying, and even more. When they will be completed, they will be a masterpiece and a monumental achievement.
This year is the Year of the Cobra, the year of wealth and prosperity. Of sovereignty, unity, leadership, and protection from harm. There are many tasks set in front of us that we must set out to complete. We must achieve these goals these goals and dreams in order to bring a brighter Egypt, to stay the top civilization, spread our influence, always inspire awe in anyone who hears about us, and to always be remembered as the great, victorious Egypt that we truly are.
One goal for this year is that we must enrich our culture. One way to do this is by establishing a library. Therefore, we will establish a library. In this library will be held all kinds of books and scrolls, the Book of Thoth, legends, music recopies, poetry, stories, dance, all types of literature. With this library available to everyone, the people of Egypt can be educated on everything they please that is available in the library. You may learn everything about the gods, architecture, or legends, just to name a few.  You could also entertain yourself with volumes of love stories, adventure stories, or mysteries. Anything that exists in the library, all knowledge, news, entertainment, and more, could be to your access. The Government will provide information about the gods, our history, and other societies, but everything else must be provided by you. The Government cannot do everything, therefore it is up to you to produce our literature, produce our culture, and produce our entertainment. If you create any type of literature, you may turn it into the library and receive appropriate payment. The library will then make copies of your piece and have them available for other Egyptians to check out, read, and marvel at. If you wish to, you can also sell your piece of literature. The library will eventually become a storehouse of all types of literature created by you, the citizens. With all of this impressive literature, our culture will shoot through the roof! The library will fan the flames of culture, and also improve your life as an Egyptian.
This year, there will also be change involving the Government. Because there is some confusion about the laws and the court systems, they will be clarified and improved. Once the laws and courts are further clarified, we will improve our methods of enforcing the law. Because Egypt is so prosperous and further strives to be prosperous, the Government will do all they can to further increase the value of our currency. The citizens can help the government by improving the economy. This can be done by starting businesses, buying goods from each other, and being active in your job. The people wish Egypt to be a place with more liberty; therefore, the Government will give all the Egyptians more freedom. We will establish our individual rights, freedoms, and more, in addition to your original rights. Your rights will be established in a few weeks time after the festival. The Government will also, this coming year, strive to set up alliances and trade routes with other civilizations and cultures. We shall trample any enemies that may appear or prove a rival to us and our civilization.
For Egypt Island, there are also tasks that will be accomplished this year. First off, we must finish transporting the royal throne from the land bridge to the South Side.  We must do this quickly so that the rising water will not be in the way of our work. Around the mighty throne, we will also construct a palace not just for the Pharaoh, but for all who visit the island. We shall also build a stronger, more durable base for the white monument so that it will not be washed away when the water rises up. Also, there will be another path built running from East to West on the island, from the land bridge to the East Side. We will also install a toilet for guests on the island to use. We will further map out and explore the island, we will also find the place to build the Temple of Sorbek. Much other building on the island will take place this year.
Another goal for this year is education. We hope to educate every Egyptian in our language and writing. We need everyone to be able to read and write in our county’s language. Everyone must also know how to use our numerals. Strive for this goal, fellow citizens.
Furthermore, this year we will continue to hold more festivals that are increasingly entertaining and increasingly glorifying towards the gods. We will also build the grand temples to all of our gods. We will bring offerings there and hold more festivals because of them. This will be another critical section of our culture.
Many new, progressive, and exciting things are in store for this New Year. Egypt in this New Year is destined to prosper, grow, and thrive. With everyone working together, we shall continue to be the most marveling, awe inspiring civilization. We will eradicate crime, increase our borders, maintain unity, flourish, and be the best we can be. We are Egyptians, civilians of the mightiest culture ever to exist, and ever existing. For us, anything and everything is possible. Nothing shall stand in our way or obstruct our unity. Every culture will look up to us and envy us because of our achievements. This year, let us all come together and set out with the New Year mission ahead of us.
-Thank you, and enjoy the rest of the Festival!-

Literatre

One of the objectives of this new year that was mentioned in the address of the Kingdom at the New Years Festival, was the need of a library. The library will house all types of knowledge and stories. Here is just an example of some literature from the library.

This story is the legend behind Egypt Island. This is a very old story, and hopefully it will answer your questions about why we go to Egypt Island.
Egypt Island
The Legend
Legend has it that a mound rose up out of the lake of creation. The god Sorbek was on here. The great camel-headed sphinx roared, causing the land of the world to well up over the Earth. The first land was Egypt. The holy lake is the revered Norris Lake. No animals live on Sorbek’s island for it is his throne and it is very holy and sacred. The waters of the lake leap for joy at the sight of Sorbek. Three Egyptians came to Norris Lake and bowed down to the great Sorbek. They pledged to make a honorary small city just for Sorbek. The city will be built on Sorbek’s Throne. The great waters of the lake will jump for joy the last time, thus ending the city.

This next story explains why the gods never die or become ill. It is a medium-old story.

Horus and the Winged Ankh

The god Horus was walking along the flood plains near the city Waset. The Winged Ankh lives in flood plains and marshes. There was a Winged Ankh fluttering by near Horus and he drew his bow. He shot the Winged Ankh in the left wing. Horus pounced on it. “Let me go!,’’ the Winged Ankh pleaded. But Horus would not let it go until a Winged Ankh dwelled within every god. It agreed and every god became immortal. Thanks to Horus, no god ever got sick or died.

The last story is just a fun story from more recent times.

The Silver Sistrum
All of Egypt was rejoicing for the Pharaoh’s royal son Maatmer was to marry a foreign princess and become Pharaoh. He had been betrothed for quite a while and this day of marriage was finally coming. Although it seemed like the whole world was happy, one person was not. It was prince Maatmer himself. He called for his servant girl Nefertiti, whom he truly loved deeply, and sadly invited her to the wedding. Nefertiti agreed and bowed deeply to Maatmer, but inside she was feeling sadness. Nefertiti loved Maatmer. Nefertiti and Maatmer loved each other but each did not know the other loved them. Maatmer was getting married so it was really a hopeless situation.
Nefertiti went to the temple of Hathor and asked the great goddess of love herself what present she should get for the prince and princess on for their wedding. The gold statue of Hathor came alive in front of Nefertiti and said, “Dear, aren’t you sad that your true love is getting married to another?” “How did you know that?” asked Nefertiti. Hathor responded, “I am the goddess of love, am I not? I know everything of love.” Nefertiti smiled, how could she forget who she was talking to? “Yes, I am a bit sad, but I knew this day was coming and the marriage is to take place tonight. So, there really isn’t any use of being upset by it.” Even though Nefertiti said said this, she was weeping in grief on the inside. Hathor gave a mischievous smile and said slyly, “Well, I suppose so.” Hathor smiled because she knew that this match was wrong and and was about to twist the strings of destiny and love. “Here, take this.” Hathor held out an object to Nefertiti, Nefertiti took it and discovered that the object she held in her hand was a silver sistrum. “Yes,” said Hathor, “That is a silver sistrum. Sistrums, the magical instrument of Hathor, but this is no ordinary sistrum. When you shake the sistrum, it plays a magical melody. Shake the sistrum during the wedding, preferably right before the newlyweds kiss, so that you may give them the greatest gift, true love.” Nefertiti sadly listened and said, “I’ll do whatever you say, thank you great goddess.” Hathor smiled as Nefertiti walked out of the temple with the silver sistrum in her hand.
The wedding was grand, well, of course it was. After all, it was the wedding of the Prince of Egypt. The couple was met by a royal procession led by the High Priest of Hathor. Many hymns and vows came, all emotionally paining Nefertiti. Then finally, the moment came. “You may kiss your Princess!” Maatmer bent over, his bride in his arms, to seal the marriage bond. Nefertiti shook the magical Silver Sistrum just as Hathor had said, though she was dreading what she was doing. She was sadly aware that True Love’s Bond was strengthening.
Contrary to Nefertiti’s belief, the bonds between the Prince and Princess were not strengthening; instead the bonds between Prince Maatmer and Nefertiti were strengthening. The love between the Prince and the servant girl was too strong to resist, and just before Maatmer kissed the Princess, he pulled back. “I can’t!” Maatmer proclaimed. “This is not where my heart lies!” He called his servant girl Nefertiti by his side, and to her surprise, he abruptly, but romantically, kissed her. “Nefertiti is the one I love!” Maatmer exclaimed. “Oh High Priest, give the eternal bonds of marriage to us! Nefertiti is a mere servant girl, but I love her so, and true love is more powerful than any betrothment. Father, make it so!” The whole congregation stared at the Pharaoh expectantly for his approval or disapproval. Then the Pharaoh boldly announced, “Let it be so!” The crowd cheered and the High Priest continued with the service. “By the will of the goddess Hathor, I pronounce you husband and wife.” Everyone erupts in happy applause while Maatmer swoops over his bride, grasps her in his arms, and lovingly and gently seals True Love’s Bond with True Love’s Kiss.
Shortly after the joyous wedding, Maatmer and Nefertiti become the King and Queen of Egypt. They also change their last name to Hotep-Mer which means Happy-Love. The first thing that Pharaoh Maatmer and Queen Nefertiti do for the country is throw a great, lavish festival for Hathor so that she might hear the King’s and Queen’s thanks. At the grand festival, the King and Queen make the most offerings and kiss Hathor’s golden statue in reverence. Pharaoh Maatmer makes an announcement at the festival. “My people of Egypt, all this happiness flows from the great goddess Hathor. She has blessed us when we cannot possibly return the favor. A toast to Hathor!”
The graceful goddess Hathor smiled down at what she had done. She knew that she had preformed good and that this wise match was meant to be.
So there is some Egyptian Literature! More is in the Librairy, so check out a scroll, or you could just write a story!
Also, we have made advancments in technology, we now have our own Hieroglyph Font!

Check out a book from the library or 2 or 3 maybe even %

The Festival of the New Year! April 9th

Hathor!
This festival was the festival of the new year! This festival was to honor the goddess of prosperity and fertility, Hathor, and the god of time, Khonsu. Luckily, we were well prepared for this festival because of our former 2 temple drafts. We arrived a bit early to set up, some people were picking flowers for the ceremony, others were making wine, others still were preparing the Hathor Temple. At 12 sharp, we started the festival! We started the festival with the ceremony of Hathor. We made a procession, Flowers, water, Hathor statue, Script bearer, and instruments. As we walked to the Hathor shrine we sprinkled flowers along the path, chanting "Hathor!" occasionally. The ceremony was preformed and we asked Hathor to, "Bless the Kingdom of Egypt, and bring us bounty... to the land!"Soon after the ceremony, the Pharaoh gave an important address to the Kingdom, almost like the President's Address to the Union. This speech was 6 pages long! Maybe I can include a copy of it on the blog soon. After the long address, different awards were given out to Egyptians. The awards were,

The Wealthiest Egyptian! = Teryn D., 36 coins
The Hardest Working Egyptian! = Gemma N.
The Most Profitable Business! = Super Isis Incorporated
The Most Literate! = Teryn D.
Biggest Face O' Shame Hater! = Teryn D.
Fairest! = Fiona M.
The Most Despised Person in all of Egypt! = Trey, the face of shame.
(and award should have been given to...) The Most Generous! = Roy P.

Some coins from the Egyptian Treasury
Certain gifts were also given out as well, such as the Mystery Project, and other goodies! This festival, we Egyptians decided to have a little fun, have a lottery! There were a small amount of tickets, so everyone bought a large share. Ashleigh bought over 16, Super Isis Incorporated, over 8, and others bought until all of the tickets were gone. We rolled the first number... 4! Darn it! Ashleigh was out! Next number... 6! Everyone was out... except for Roy! Yes, Roy was the lucky winner of the lottery! With only 2 tickets, he really won by a hair! We were all bumbed out, but we had still more Egyptian spirit! We had another lottery! Ashleigh bought he mos tickets, determined to win! Most people, however, only bought one ticket. The first number was rolled... 4! Ashleigh was out, again! The second number... 3! Roy had one again! By the end of the lottery, almost every Egyptian had lost their money, and Super Isis Incorporated went Bankrupt. On the other hand, Roy became the richest Egyptian, besides from the Pharaoh, of course!

After the lottery, we had an auction. We were selling all types of goods, jewelry to important scrolls, to Egypt Game antiques. Basically, everyone was without money so almost everything was bought by Roy. Roy, being generous, gave most of his Items away and donated all of his spare money to struggling Egyptians. Also, Roy save Super Isis Incorporated from Bankruptcy. Therefore, Roy's new name is Roy the Generous.

The Lunar Disk of Khonsu
After our auction,we started the ceremony of Khonsu. The ceremony was the same as in the Festival of Khonsu, except we didn't walk around the house 4 times, and we didn't stumble around in the dark.
After our ceremony, we had our majorNerf Gun War! After the division of teams, an hour of carefully planned seige, and a mental breakdown, Pharaoh's team finally won! It was a struggle, but we won! We were all out of energy by the end of it and we finished the festival a bit early, so we all decided to watch a movie. What a good festival!

Temple Drafts 6-7

Temple Draft 6, March 26th.
The Ceiling!
This is one of 2 temple rafts where we turned our attention from the government room to the upcoming festival, the festival of the new year. Exciting! We pieced together scrolls for auction at the festival, started work on the Hathor plaza, did some other odds and ends jobs, and we painted the ceiling of the government room! Now, it is a deep blue, just perfect for the stars that we will paint on the ceiling!

Temple Draft 7, April 2nd.
This draft was further more focused on the preparation of the festival, and we 1, completed the Hathor plaza/temple, 2, sorted out the goods to be auctioned at the festival, and 3, finished many important and expensive items for the festival. We can't wait for the festival!

Temple Drafts 2-5

Temple Draft 2, Jan. 22, 2011

This one was 6 hours long! Because of the poor quaity of the hieoglyphs that the laborers from the past temple draft drew, you first had to finish a scribal education packet before you were allowed to write on the walls. Finishing the packet occupied most of eveyone's time and put a damper on the productivity of the draft. Even though most people were busy with their packets, we still got things done. Fiona started sketching the curse panel in the govenment room. Also, Gayle began working on the mystery project. Don't ask what it is, because it is a mystery! Teryn and Ashleigh began copying down some texts from the Book of Toth on the wall. We also worked a long time on making grids and got a few panels finished. When we were at a stopping point, we watched Sleeping Beauty!

Gayle working on the Mystery Project
Finished Hieroglyph Packets!
Fiona working while Gemma and Kelli goof off.
Intently working...
Grid makers!
Ashleigh and Teryn copying down Book of Thoth texts.

Temple Draft 3, Jan. 29, 2011

This temple draft was a reasonable length, 4 hours. Gayle continued the mystery project. Kelli finished up the grids, and everyone else made beads. Lots of beads. They were government comissioned because the government owned the rights to Jewelry. We, at the end of our 2 our work shift, watched Robinhood Men in Tights!!! We had a great time!
Temple Draft 4, Feb. 5, 2011

This draft was a complete sucess! We officially broke out the paint and started painting! Also, the mystery project was fnished! We made more beads and the government decided to give up it's rights to Jewelry! Applaud this change in power! Two Egyptians, Fiona and Gemma, decided to start their own Jewelry buisness, Super Isis incorperated. Good job guys!  After all this progress, we took the last 2 hours to have a nerf gun war!

Egypt Island Trip No.6 Jan. 17, 2011

Yes, we are Egyptians, we also work in the dead of winter.

The red box, with all of our supplies

So, this trip was FREEZING!!!! There was even snow on the ground! We, after I gave the grand tour, first checked up on all the usual things, re glossed the seats, checked the monument, checked supplies, the usual.Unfortunately, there are deer that think it is funny to come to our island and knock our monuments over. Yeah, the white monument was knocked over. Also, the rain, snow, and constant freezing, had worn away the mud brick and rock base. So, we decided that we have to make a different base. The base still has to be rather tall so that we can see the monument from the home dock. The base also has to be tall because when the water comes up, around May, the monument won't be under water and destroyed.

The throne in the mud.

The rising water was also the cause of what we did for the rest of the time. The Pharaoh selected a throne for him to sit upon during his time on the island. The throne is massive, heavy, and can not be destroyed! The perfect spot for Pharaoh's throne is the south side!..... But the problem is, it is on the west side, REALLY FAR AWAY from its final destination. Another problem is that we have to move the throne before the water rises so that it won't be under water, and so that the Pharaoh can sit on it. Remember when I said the throne was heavy? Yeah. I wasn't kidding. We, me, Kelli, and Gemma, needed to move the throne, but the problem was, the throne was sooo heavy that it kept on sinking in the dirt. We were going no where with it. But then, Pharaoh had an innovative plan! They would make a road from rocks, pull the throne onto the road, and then drag the throne on the road all the way to the south side. First though, we had to move the rock from the dirt onto road. It sounds completely simple, but not so much. We couldn't even lift the rock.

The woring plan!

Eventually we got the rock on the road and the plan worked! Well, it did, but this plan needed efficient labor. There were only 3 people, 1 was strong, and the other 2 were weaklings. We pulled the throne the length of the road, about 10 feet, and then had to pick up all the rocks and move them to form the new road. Too bad that some laborers could barely lift the road rocks.... So we repeated this throne moving process about 5 times, and by the end we were all exhausted and had moved the throne fro start to finish, only about 60-75 feet. We stopped at a hard place, when we resume we next have to go up a hill. Yay, the hill will save it from the waters, but it will be so very hard to scale! Well, we can do anything because we are Egyptians. We went back to the lake house, had some soup, and watched the Mummy! What a great day! We will definitely resume work when it is warmer!

Pulling in the mud, to no avail.

Egypt Island Trip No. 5 Jan. 4, 2011

Funness.....
So me, Jordan, and Ashley headed out for a cold fun day on Egypt Island. Because Mimi had invited some fiends to stay at the lake house, we decided to go straight to the island. It was winter, and the water was down low, so we coldn't take boats to get there like we normally do, for fear of the boat tipping and us getting hypothermia. We took out all of our stuff, the red box and a load of 6 bricks, and started our long 30 minute trek to the island. We took the old loggers' tail and went around coves, through the woods, over fallen tees, up hills, and across gorges. Halfway there, Mimi realized that we could have driven there instead of walked there. UGH!!! Well, I guess the exercise was good. The load of brick we had was sooooo heavy, so we solved the problem in an Egyptian way! We found a long tree branch, attached the brick load to the middle, and two people took the ends of the pole. This lessened our load and made the trek easier!!!
On the island, I first gave a tour. Next, Ashley and Jordan pained the Hathor Path sign. Its GORGEOUS! Then, we painted red dots on Poison Ivy vines, so we know not to touch them, and green dots on the Cedar trees. After that, we all painted seats all over the island. All the seats are are rocks that you can sit on that are painted. Pretty simple. While the seats were drying, the girls decided they wanted a toilet on the island. We scout out a suitable place and got to work. We got halfway through when we decided that we were all very tired. After the seats were glossed, painted and dried, we moved them to all over the Island. By this point,we were exhausted. Lastly, we moved all of our stuff to higher ground to protect it from when the water level rises.
We found out on this trip that deer visit our island often. They walk around, and cause trouble. Yes, they were the cause in knocking down our Egypt Island monument. Also,we decided that Trey, the criminal, should clean up our littered island. That was a very fun and successful trip.
